Sponsorship Opportunities

The Opportunity

Nelson Museum Display

The "opportunity" is the promotion of your company in association with Karel Pavich in the sport of Motorcycle Road Racing.

Objectives and Goals for 2011/12

To compete to the very best of her ability at all times in selected local, national and international events with the goal of attaining "Top 5" status at every event. This increases the overall chances of Karel representing New Zealand, particularly at the Island Classic, which hosts riders from the UK, Australia and New Zealand. Karel has placed in the top 5 at all of the Island Classic meetings she has competed at.

To raise the awareness of motorcycling as a lifestyle choice for women, and to challenge - on behalf of all women - the "glass ceiling" mentality that has traditionally kept motorcycle racing as a male-dominated sport.

To race with integrity. The goals are to enjoy the experience, to maintain safety and to minimise any and all potential damage to machinery, environment, self and others in the process. This racing ethic is underpinned by a strong risk assessment and risk management infrastructure.

As a Team
To maintain the most professional racing team possible, whilst achieving the best results on the racetrack and at the same time enhancing the profile of motorcycle racing and bringing maximum value to Sponsors and Supporters.

Racing Motorcycles and Class of Competition

The 2 racing machines

The Yamaha TZ350 was the predecessor to the current 250cc GP machines. It is again a purpose built racing machine not quite at the performance level of the current 250cc machines, however is still capable of being a very competitive bike. This was the last year the TZ350 was manufactured.

Class: Post Classic—Forgotten Era pre 82 up to 350cc

Kawasaki ZXR 400 1989
This bike has recently been purchased to use as a practice bike and as a 2nd bike to help Karel hone her race skills after time away from racing over the last 1-2 years. This is a more affordable way of getting practice laps compared to the highly tuned GP machines as above. This bike is currently being rebuilt in preparation for the track.

Class: Post Classic—Forgotten Era Pre 82 and Formula 3

Yamaha TZ 250 2002/04
The Yamaha TZ 250 is purpose built for the racetrack.
Weighing less than 100kg, with nearly 90hp and a top speed of around 250km they are a bike designed to go fast on a race track. This is a highly tuned machine requiring a lot of attention to keep it performing at its peak.

Class: 250GP*
*we currently do not have a 250GP national championship class in NZ.

Racing Number# 99
